The Bellydance Shoppe http://www.bellydanceshoppe.com/ 2006-11-05
The Bellydance Shoppe is a one stop shop to acquire all needed supplies. They have a good selection of music, videos, and costume supplies. I'm especially fond of (or even addicted to) their dance unitards
Mid-East Mfg http://www.mid-east.com 2006-11-04
Mid-east got their start as a maker of inexpensive finger cymbols (zills) over 30 years ago. They now are an importer of ethnic musical instruments and accessories, with several hundred different inventory items. They have an entire section on their web site devoted to Belly Dance. I have at least sampled most of their dance items over the years, and have found everything to be well-represented and decently priced. In addition, their customer service has always been better than excellent.
They also sell a wide variety drums , both imported and made by them. Their doumbeks are nearly all well suited to drumming for belly dancers, and their ceramic doumbeks are an excellent combination of price vs quality.
Disclaimer: I have a wholesale account with Mid-east and resell some of their items, so I'm not exactly un-biased. But I got the account because I was so pleased with Mid-East, and I've kept if all these years for the same reason.
Turquoise International http://www.turquoiseintl.com 2006-11-04
Turquoise International is where I buy the Finger Cymbals (Zills) I sell in class.
I have found cheaper Finger Cymbals, and I've found ones I like better, but I believe Turquoise Finger Cymbals are the best combination of quality and price on the market today.
